I was thrilled when Magnus and Tania invited me to be part of their special wedding day. I’d not had the opportunity to photograph at the fantastic Windsor Guildhall nor had I then made a journey to a reception venue by boat on the Thames so it was a day I was really looking forward to.
Windsor Guildhall Weddings
Windsor Guildhall is a very popular wedding venue that has held host to a number of royal and celebrity weddings. The building was completed in 1687 by Sir Christopher Wren and is situated on the high street just a stones throw from Windsor Castle itself. I fact the magnificent chandeliers inside this wonderful building were officially lent by the queen herself.
The english weather lived up-to its reputation but couldn’t put a dampener on this wedding. I met with Magnus at the Guildhall and it wasn’t long before he was joined by the rest of the guests and led inside to await the arrival of Tania looking absolutely stunning. A very heartwarming and special ceremony then took place. I managed to get a couple of photos of the newly married couple in this amazing location before everyone took the short walk down the high street to the river where waiting was the boat to transport the wedding party to the reception.
Wedding entertainment at its best
What I loved about Magnus and Tania’s wedding was the diversity of entertainment from the music at the Guildhall to the cream tea and scones on the boat sailing down the Thames to the many entertaining speeches. It’s scandinavian tradition that anyone is allowed to do a speech so there were many laughs as a many different people spoke which made the evening a fun and lively affair. It was great to see so many people on the dance floor partying the night away. Here are a few of my favourite images from the day.
